Georges-Kevin Nkoudou will undergo a medical at Tottenham Hotspur on
Tuesday ahead of a £10.8 million transfer from Marseille, a source close
to the Premier League club has told reporters.
Nkoudou, who scored
14 goals in all competitions last season after joining Marseille from
Nantes for £1m, arrived in London on Monday and is expected to sign a
five-year deal with Spurs.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has
already recruited Victor Wanyama from Southampton and Vincent Janssen
from AZ Alkmaar for a combined £28m, as the club bolster their squad
ahead of a return to the Champions League this season.
A source
said Spurs stepped up interest in Nkoudou after deciding against
pursuing Newcastle's Georginio Wijnaldum and Lille winger Sofiane
Boufal.
Meanwhile, Marseille are interested in taking Clinton
Njie, the forward signed by Tottenham from Lyon last summer, on loan but
any deal will be independent of Spurs' move for Nkoudou.
Tottenham will listen to offers for Njie after agreeing the deal for Nkoudou.
