Fort William beat Nairn County 5-2 on Wednesday in a North of Scotland Cup clash.
Their last victory was the 4-1 defeat of Strathspey Thistle in April 2017. The club tweeted: "Incredible things. A great night tonight in Claggan Park.
An incredible sensation. We want to thank all those who came along." And we would like to thank everybody who has celebrated with us online, around the globe. Your support is not going unnoticed.
Jack Brown and Donald Morrison were among the goalscorers for The Fort, who are managed by Russell MacMorran.
Nine loan signings from Scottish Championship side Inverness have helped Fort William, whose losing streak featured in a recent BBC Scotland documentary.
The team were congratulated by clubs across the country, as well as by the SNP’s Westminster leader Ian Blackford.
Mr Blackford wrote: “Heartfelt congratulations on an emphatic victory after an 840-day wait.
“A great story of perseverance and dedication.
“No matter how many times they got knocked down, they dusted themselves down and went again. Good luck moving forward!”
