Manchester United are said to be on the verge of finishing a stunning £56million deal for Sporting Lisbon’s prime midfielder, Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes can be a part of Ole Gunnar’s Solskjaer’s side once he makes his final appearance for Sporting Lisbon after they tackle Benfica in the Portuguese Super Cup clash at the Estadio Algarve stadium on Sunday as reported by Mirror uk.
The 24-year-old will sign a €6million-per-year deal with Man United plus bonuses.
Fernandes could make his debut for Man United against Chelsea in their Premier League opener on August 11.
The Portuguese international broke down in tears at the end of Lisbon’s friendly 2-1 defeat to Valencia last Sunday.
Speaking on Fernandes’ potential move to Man United, Sporting manager, Marcel Keizer told reporters on Sunday after his side’s defeat to Valencia: “We’ll see if we can keep our players and then we’ll see what we do. I hope he [Fernandes] stays, of course, like everyone else at Sporting, but we don’t know.”
