DAVID DE GEA is ready to sign an eye-watering £91MILLION five-year deal when Manchester United return from their pre-season tour.
The Old Trafford giants have been negotiating with the Spain international goalkeeper since the new year and there has finally been a breakthrough in talks.
United have increased their £300,000-a-week offer to a whopping £350,000 in a bid to keep their superstar stopper.
SunSport revealed last month the two sides had returned to the negotiating table after 28-year-old De Gea refused to sign a deal.
United’s offer will be for an initial four years, with the option on the club’s side to trigger a further year.
De Gea’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the new season, which kicks off in just 24 days’ time.
There have been no summer offers for the keeper, who has been the Red Devils’ Player of the Season for four of the last five campaigns.
He was on the verge of a move to Real Madrid four years ago but it collapsed on transfer deadline day when a faulty fax machine saw the paperwork arrive late.
De Gea has won one Premier League crown at the Theatre of Dreams, the 2012-13 title in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season in charge.
The Spaniard had a dip in form following last summer’s World Cup in Russia.
But he is still an integral part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans going forward.
