Mauricio Pochettino admits he could leave Tottenham even if they BEAT Liverpool

MAURICIO POCHETTINO has again refused to commit his long-term future to Tottenham after he masterminded one of their greatest ever nights to reach the Champions League final.

The Argentine was reduced to tears at the Johan Cruyff Arena as his Spurs side defied, fighting back back from 2-0 down to book their place at the Wanda Metropolitano on June 1.
Playing like a man possessed, Lucas Moura struck a sensational hat-trick including the all important winner in the 95th minute to see Tottenham through on away goals.
After leading the emotional celebrations on the pitch at the full-time whistle, Pochettino again made it clear that he could leave the club if they win the Champions League, or even if they lose in the final to Liverpool.
“Yes I am going to leave or if I lose maybe too,” he said sarcastically.
The incredible European adventure could give Pochettino more pulling power when it comes to receiving a transfer budget from Daniel Levy this summer.
He has not made a single signing since January 2018, when coincidentally last night’s hero Moura joined the club from PSG for £25million.
Pochettino first hinted that he could leave Tottenham on Tuesday when there was some confusion as to whether he was being serious.
"Winning the Champions League? It should be fantastic, no? Close the five-year chapter and go home,” he said ahead of the second leg.
When the comments were challenged, he added: "It's not a joke, why? To win the Champions League with Tottenham in these circumstances this season, maybe I need to think about maybe doing something different in the future. Because to repeat the miracle, you know..."
After Liverpool’s inspirational comeback against Barcelona at Anfield 24 hours earlier, Tottenham were keen to keep the belief at half-time that anything is possible in football, particularly this season’s Champions League.
Pochettino was asked whether he believed in destiny, after his players ripped up the script in Amsterdam to reach their first ever Champions League final.
“Of course,” he replied. “We were talking about destiny. But I don’t believe in it because it’s a nice word.
"I believe in it, first of all, when you work so hard. After you do that, and if you are honest, I believe you are going to be rewarded. Sooner or later, the reward is going to arrive.
“The spirit of the team was amazing. Never give up. The belief and the faith were the principles for the victory.
“It wasn’t the tactics, the substitutions or that we changed the way to play. It was the belief and the faith. It’s an amazing feeling.”
His press conference ended abruptly, when asked whether Kane will be fit for the final, he said “Ciao” before getting up out of his seat and leaving the room.
