The Manchester and Merseyside derbies are being thrown into doubt with heavy snow forecast in the North.
Up to eight inches is expected to hit the area this afternoon, with problems already on the roads and public transport.
Under-pitch heating at Old Trafford would clear the playing surface, but it is safety issues outside which are the issue.
Manchester City Council among others could call the mouth-watering match off if supporters are affected by hazardous conditions around the ground .
There is a yellow or amber Met Office warning in place, one of the most dangerous.
“All train lines in the Southampton area will be closed for maintenance on the day, with replacement bus services.”
London’s Underground network is facing delays and cancellations already, as supporters try to get around the country.
And National Rail have put out warnings that passengers should check their journey before leaving because of the weather across the UK.
Euston is chaotic at present, with train delays leaving fans stranded heading to Manchester and Liverpool.
