Ireland's hockey team lost to India in their Olympics opener

The first Irish Olympic Men's Hockey team in 108 years have lost their opening game 3-2 to India.
Goals from Conor Harte and John Jermyn weren't enough to earn their first points of the games.
Ireland were 2-0 down at the end of the second quarter and Jermyn was unlucky to have his goal from a penalty corner disallowed.
However, Jermyn did manage to score in the third quarter from another penalty corner to give the Irish team hope of getting something from the game.
Those hopes were dashed eight minutes later by Rupinder Pal who stretched India's lead to two, Ireland's John Jackson going off injured as he tried to stop the goal.
The final quarter saw Ireland come back again from another penalty corner as Harte deftly flicked over India's net minder to make it a tense finish which saw India hold out to earn the points.
Next up for Ireland is the Netherlands tomorrow night.
