Pep Guardiola has already started work on turning his newly-inherited Manchester City team into consistent Premier League title contenders – who will be next to join his Etihad Stadium revamp?
Ilkay Gundogan became the Spaniard’s first signing at the City helm when he joined from Borussia Dortmund earlier this month, but the real work starts now as the opening of the summer transfer window creeps ever closer.
Last season’s failed title bid uncovered the
disturbing lack of quality and depth in their squad – surely something
Guardiola will look to address with the club’s seemingly unlimited
funds.
And with the finances available to the new manager, it seems every player under the sun – and certainly at former clubs Bayern Munich and Barcelona – have been linked.
