Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign four players to turn his team around, reports say.
The Red Devils had a fruitful summer transfer window, securing the signatures of Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire.
But Solskjaer believes Manchester United need more and the Evening Standard say Woodward has decided the Red Devils manager will be given time to turn his side around.

It is claimed that United have interest in James Maddison, Jadon Sancho, Declan Rice and Sean Longstaff.
Solskjaer reportedly registered interest in Leicester playmaker Maddison during the summer window.
And he will get the chance to see the former Norwich City star in action on Saturday when the Red Devils host the Foxes at Old Trafford.
West Ham ace Rice is being eyed to provide composure and steel in the middle of the park.
Likewise Newcastle's Longstaff, who was on Solskjaer’s summer wishlist.

Regarding Sancho and Borussia Dortmund chief Michael Zorc recently confirmed the Red Devils had been in contact over the summer.
However, he claimed the England international never had any intention of leaving the Bundesliga behind.
"A hot topic right now is Sancho and Manchester United," Zorc said in the Amazon Prime documentary 'Inside Borussia Dortmund'.
"Both his discussions with the club and mine with the consultants.
“A meeting did take place. Manchester United invited the consultant.
"But, according to what I know, the consultant told the club that no matter how much money they offer, we won't let him go this summer.
“But the player also has no intention of taking that step this summer."
Meanwhile, United will be looking to secure a return to winning ways when they face Leicester on Saturday (3pm).
