Manchester United have launched a stunning £60m move for Paul Pogba, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho wants to shake up the Premier League giants' squad after replacing Louis van Gaal and is understood to have put Pogba at the top of his transfer wishlist.
The Juventus star was on United's books as a youngster but left in 2012 after failing to agree a new contract.
He has since gone on to develop into one of the world's best midfielders and has played a prominent role in Juventus' four successive Serie A triumphs.
Mourinho now wants him back at Old Trafford and, according to The Sun, has sanctioned a British record £60m bid for the 23-year-old.
United’s offer is said to be worth an initial £48m plus a potential £12m more in add-ons.
The deal would surpass the £59.7m United paid for Angel Di Maria in 2014 - the current highest fee ever paid by a British club.
Pogba is understood to be keen to leave Juve for a new challenge and is also being eyed by Barcelona.
But United are reportedly hopeful of reaching an agreement with the Frenchman, who is currently on Euro 2016 duty, and Juve before the start of pre season training in July.
