Sadio Mane
Southampton forward Sadio Mane will have a medical at Liverpool on
Monday after the Reds agreed a £30 million fee for the Senegal
international, Press Association Sport reports.
Mane, 24, will
arrive on Merseyside on Monday to undergo his physical examination and
discuss personal terms. Providing there are no hitches a deal is likely
to be concluded by Tuesday or Wednesday.
Mane, who scored 11
league goals last season, will become manager Jurgen Klopp's fourth
signing after agreeing deals for midfielder Marko Grujic, centre-back
Joel Matip and goalkeeper Loris Karius.
He is the fifth player in
the past three seasons to swap St Mary's for Anfield after Dejan Lovren,
Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne all made the same move
to the North-West.
Mane will become Liverpool's third-most expensive signing after Andy
Carroll (£35m) and Christian Benteke (£32.5m), whose own future at the
club has been cast into further doubt by this latest deal.
Liverpool are still hoping to tie up deals for Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell and Poland midfielder Piotr Zielinski as part of their summer transfer spending.
