Manchester City transfer news: No clause in place preventing Pep Guardiola signing Bayern Munich players

Manchester City transfer news: No clause in place preventing Pep Guardiola signing Bayern Munich players Pep Guardiola could be tempted to raid Bayern Munich in the transfer window

Suggestions Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is contractually prohibited from signing players from his previous club Bayern Munich are incorrect, Press Association Sport understands.
The German side's winger Douglas Costa has this week been quoted by Brazilian television network Globo Esporte as saying of Guardiola: "It is something he has in the contract, a clause that he can't take anyone from Bayern."
But sources at City have indicated that is not the case, with there being nothing of that nature to stop them doing business with Bayern in future should they seek to.
Guardiola officially starts work at City on a three-year deal next month, when his Bayern contract will have expired.
The Blues made their first new signing of the summer last week when they recruited Germany defender Ilkay Gundogan from Bayern's Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.
The Premier League side have since been linked with Dortmund and Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
