Wolfsburg have announced the signing of Jeffrey Bruma from PSV Eindhoven for an undisclosed fee.
Netherlands centre-back Bruma, 24, has signed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga club.
Bruma, who joined PSV from Chelsea in 2013 after loan spells with
Leicester City and Hamburg, has won Eredivisie titles in the last two
seasons.
Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs told the club's official website: "We are delighted that Jeffrey opted for VfL Wolfsburg.
"He will join us with the confidence of just winning a league title,
moreover he knows Bundesliga from his time at Hamburger SV and boasts
international experience. We are convinced that he can quickly become an
important cornerstone for our squad."
Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking said: "We get a centre-back of
international class. We were able to convince ourselves of it in our
Champions League meetings with PSV Eindhoven last season.
"In spite of that we believe that Jeffrey will be able to push
forward his development at Wolfsburg. We believe he has not peaked
yet."
Bruma said he had been eager to return to Germany after his time on loan at Hamburg.
"The league is one of the European top leagues," he added. "I am
delighted I get the chance to do so at Wolfsburg in the future. I was
able to gather a lot of experience and further myself in my three years
at Eindhoven.
"Now it's time to make the next step. Klaus Allofs and Dieter Hecking have shown me that Wolfsburg's the right place for it."
Wolfsburg are currently in a rebuilding phase after a disappointing
2015-16 campaign that saw them finish eighth in the Bundesliga.
