Cristiano
Ronaldo might be one of the best players on the planet but his own son
has taunted him. The Portuguese’s 5-year-old son thinks Gareth Bale is
faster than his father and that Ronaldo has to keep refuting the fact.
Speaking to Jugones de la Sexta he said, “Sometimes
he comes at home and says ‘daddy, Bale is faster than you’. And I say
‘what are you on about? No one is faster than your dad.”
Ronaldo
will have to make peace with the fact his son might be right but he
admits it makes him happy to see his kid’s wonderful playfulness and
energy. “And he says ‘Yes but at school they told me he is faster and in
an interview Messi said that he’d like to have your right foot’. He
comes up with these things and it gives me joy, he’s a kid.”
Cristiano
Ronaldo says he always wanted someone to continue his bloodline and
that having kid changes you for the better. "I always said it was a
dream to have a son, he changed me a lot.”
The 31-year-old has the
chance to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy once again as Real
Madrid prepare to take on Atletico Madrid in the final which will take
place on Saturday night in Milan.
Ronaldo has the chance to break
his own goalscoring record as well which will give him an added
incentive to try and be the match-winner not that he needs it. The
Portuguese will also want to end the season with another trophy after
losing out narrowly on the La Liga title.
Ronaldo wants new contract at Real Madrid
Ronaldo
has made a strong statement and has demanded Madrid to give him a new
contract saying, “Real Madrid would be making a smart decision if they
offered me a new contract.”
"I want to stay here, there have been
good moments and bad moments. Four years ago I wasn't happy here but now
I am and I can't think of a better club to be at than Real Madrid,
there's no team like it. The other clubs can forget it”
There were
reports of him supposedly joining PSG in the summer but now Madrid are
willing to offer him a 3-year extension. Ronaldo is the clubs’ all-time
highest goal scorer and has formed a great partnership with Bale and
Benzema.
